Retirement Visa in Thailand

Thailand Retirement Visa

If you are 50 years old or older having the financial support to retire in Thailand and you are willing to not to work in Thailand.

Basically, you must apply for a Non-Immigrant visa Type O. Once you have received such visa, you may apply for an extension of stay from 90 days to 1 year.

To be eligible for such an extension, you must have a Thai bank account which proves that

The holder of Retirement Visa is allowed to enter or leave the country as often as they like during duration of Visa but you are required to notify the Immigration authorities in writing of your residence every 90 days to make sure you are safe in that location.

 

BASIC REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Immigration form 7
  2. Copy of passport
  3. 4 cm. X 6 cm. Photograph
  4. 1,900 baht application fee
  5. Financial Evidence:
    1. 5.1   Bank account pass-book, bank statement 800,000 baht
    2. 5.2   Evidence showing reception of pension accompanied with Thai translation certified by the embassy or consulate of the country paying the pension 65,000 baht
    3. 5.3   Evidence presenting other sources of income or evidence of money transferred from overseas
    In cases of having dependents (husband / wife, children), the applicant must provide evidence indicating their relationship. Evidence must be translated into Thai and be certified by the embassy or consulate of the aliens.
  6. Health Certificate for those who apply for further stay after Nov. 14, 2002.

The officials reserve the rights to examine or ask for additional documents, if necessary
